Diary: 28th December 2011, from the Gaisberg near Salzburg, Austria

With a jet-lagged grandmother straight off the plane from Boston, a sleep deprived mum and dad and a 10 week old, we pointed our Nissan up Gaisberg mountain for what would be the young one’s first trip to 1,288 meters.

There’s seldom a good reason to not venture up the nearest mountain!
